Get your friend together and create a team to pull a bus. Awards will be given for the teams with the fastest time, slowest time, team spirit/costume and most money raised. Learn adult and pediatric CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), emergency procedures like rescue breathing and the Heimlich maneuver, and first aid. Upon workshop completion, students receive a course completion card in Adult and Pediatric CPR with AED and first aid. Class is blended learning online part is sent after registration for class. Registration required, class size limited. This class is not appropriate for those needing training for a healthcare field (doctors, dentists, nurses, EMS, etc.).
Dragon Boat Festival Splashes into Lansing this September to Support Women’s Center of Greater Lansing
The Women’s Center of Greater Lansing is thrilled to announce its upcoming Dragon Boat Races on Saturday, September 14, 2025, at Grand River Park. This exciting community event will bring together teams, vendors, and supporters for a day filled with tradition, competition, and fun—all to raise awareness and support the vital services provided by the Women’s Center of Greater Lansing.
The festival will feature dragon boat races, a vibrant lineup of local vendors, and a raffle. Guests are invited to cheer on the competing teams, shop from small businesses, and enjoy a festive atmosphere along the river.
“This event is more than just a race,” said Rebecca Kasen, Executive Director of the Women’s Center of Greater Lansing. “It’s a celebration of community, resilience, and the power of people coming together to support women in our region. Every cheer, every purchase, and every raffle ticket helps us continue our mission of empowering women to realize their potential.”
The Women’s Center of Greater Lansing is the beneficiary of the event. Funds raised will directly support programs such as mental health counseling, financial empowerment coaching, and workshops on domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking,

The PFCU Foundation Charity Golf Outing is an annual event designed to bring together community members, businesses, and golf enthusiasts for a day of fun and philanthropy.
Participants will enjoy a round of golf at the beautiful Owosso Country Club, including lunch at the turn and followed by dinner and awards. The event aims to raise funds for the PFCU Foundation, which supports grants for various initiatives and programs in the community that focus in the areas of art, health/wellness, agriculture and financial literacy.

Learn emergency procedures, discipline techniques, diapering, age-appropriate activities, rescue breathing, the Heimlich maneuver, and basic first aid skills needed while babysitting. Upon workshop completion, students receive an American Red Cross babysitting course certificate. Registration required, class size limited. Participants bring a sack lunch, water bottle.

With help from expert guides and naturalists, we'll search for local salamander species, learn about their behaviors, habitats, conservation efforts, and their vital role in our ecosystem.
