“Singers on The Grand” headed to Grand Ledge Opera House for a journey of timeless tunes

The perfect road trip isn’t complete without the tunes that you love, from an irresistible classic rock anthem, that nostalgic folk tune to play at sunset or the one guilty pleasure that makes you dance while stuck in traffic. “The Grand American Road Trip” rolls into Grand Ledge Opera House on April 11^th and 12^th for a cabaret weekend of travelin’ favorites that will transport you from coast-to-coast.

Singers on the Grand and the phenomenal Grand Band have crafted a celebration of beloved songs from some of America’s most iconic claims to musical fame across the decades. Jam out to “Free Ride”, “Route 66", “Pink Cadillac”, Billy’s “New York State of Mind”, Aretha’s “Chain of Fools” and plenty of others. Join the ride and enjoy a journey of iconic favorites from a variety of genres!

All tickets are $22, are general admission, and include dessert and coffee. Shows are at 6:30 p.m. on April 11^th and 2:30 p.m. on April 12^th. Buy tickets online at: https://www.gloperahouse.com/upcoming_events.php and if you purchase 8 tickets, you can reserve a table.

Director Katy Brandon McDonough explains, “Our Singers and Grand Band are in top form, showcasing the many diverse sounds of American music from across the country. This year, our show includes many beloved tunes which have stood the test of time and travel."

The Singers on the Grand ensemble vocalists are Joy Eisenga, Kelly Bitz, Bill DeWitt, Ellen Hoard, Charlie Martin, Katy Brandon McDonough, Rachel Paxton, Kelly Sandula-Gruner, Darryl Schmitz, and Dan Templin. Grand Band instrumentalists are Phil Barger, Deb DeWitt, Dave Douches, Dave Gruner, Ernie Toplis, Pete Murthum, Bernard Schroeter, and Tyler Smith. Administration & Technical members are Mike Cordes, Marley Bitz, Mary McDonough, Gloria Wilcox, Tim Daniel, Jim Lorenz, Bob Gerhls.

Kids who registered for a Free Tree seedling from our partner Neighborhood Forest will be notified when the trees are ready for pickup.

A great place for farmers and artisans to sell their products directly to the community as well as food truck vendors who can provide tasty local foods.

The market is intended to foster local economic development and encourage business in Grand Ledge. The markets purpose is to also bring local produce and other locally produced goods to the people of Grand Ledge. Items include fresh local produce, homemade baked goods, handcrafted products, plants, honey, maple syrup, smoked fish, flowers, and other locally produced goods.

Throughout the summer, we will also have entertainment on the Rotary Club stage during the market and food trucks.

The 2026 Wacousta Community Block Party is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, in downtown Wacousta, hosted by the Wacousta Cooperative Preschool. This community event features live music, food trucks, over 40 vendors, and kids' activities to raise funds for the preschool’s scholarship fund, promising family-friendly fun.

Location: Downtown Wacousta (typically near 9180 W Herbison Rd, Eagle, MI).
Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026. from 3-7 pm
Activities: Live music, over 40 local vendors, artisan stalls, food trucks, and kids' activities often including face painting and character visits.
Purpose: Proceeds from the block party benefit the Wacousta Cooperative Preschool's scholarship fund, which helps local families with tuition assistance.
New Additions: A kids' market for young entrepreneurs to sell their creations.

There will be crafters and vendors (including pottery, wood work, candles, handmade craft items, and businesses doing outreach) around three different parks along with free pumpkins for kids, a fall photo booth, pony rides, a petting zoo, food trucks, and we even have some re-enactors and demonstrators of live art.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Grand Ledge Fall Festival, so bring the family to Fall Fest, then walk to the Beer Fest and enjoy craft beer and cider on Fitzgerald Field (the ball field under the bridge). Food trucks will be in the parking lot.

Entrance to the field is behind the Masonic Temple across the parking lot from the Island entrance.

NO REFUNDS, but please feel free to give them to someone else.

*service animals only and must be leashed

REGULAR ATTENDEE TICKETS

$30 per person tickets include a souvenir beer glass (while supplies last) and 10 drink tickets by October 3.
Day of Tickets at the Gate: $35 per person tickets for 10 drink tickets.

VIP TICKETS

$40 per person tickets include a souvenir beer glass (while supplies last) and 15 drink tickets by October 3.
Day of Tickets at the Gate: $45 per person tickets for 15 drink tickets.

DESIGNATED DRIVER TICKETS

$10 per person includes unlimited pop and water.

Local businesses on both sides of Bridge Street and Bridge Street Plaza will be bustling with kids in costumes and their families throughout downtown Grand Ledge.

Stop by Bridge Street Plaza to visit with some of our Chamber members who don't have a storefront on Bridge Street but want to participate in this fun community event!

The Annual Night Lights Christmas Parade is a spectacular night time parade packed full of lots of lights and music! It starts at the Grand Ledge Fire Department at 500 North Clinton Street and then makes its way straight down Bridge Street to Scott Street. Santa always makes his appearance at the end of the parade, trading in his red sleigh for a red fire truck.

Chamber Events:

Letters to Santa Mailbox in the Plaza
Get Warm by the Firepit in the Plaza
6:45 PM Tree Lighting in Bridge Street Plaza
7:00 PM Christmas Parade starts at the fire station and heads south on Bridge Street
After the parade, visit Santa at the Grand Ledge Opera House!

Chamber Members: Free, login required
Non-Members: $5
Elected Office Position: $100
