A great place for farmers and artisans to sell their products directly to the community as well as food truck vendors who can provide tasty local foods.

The market is intended to foster local economic development and encourage business in Grand Ledge. The markets purpose is to also bring local produce and other locally produced goods to the people of Grand Ledge. Items include fresh local produce, homemade baked goods, handcrafted products, plants, honey, maple syrup, smoked fish, flowers, and other locally produced goods.

Help the Capital Area Humane Society: Cats, dogs, kittens, puppies, rabbits and guinea pigs need food and other necessities as they wait for  adoption.  Support our Shelter Supplies drive by donating from their complete Suggestion List, or go online to Donate financially. Your kindness helps CAHS and the animals they care for!

Our Summer Reading Program (SRP) combines fun activities and entertaining events to support and increase reading skills – and learning – all summer long! June 1 - July 31.

GLADL offers traditional paper and digital options to participate in SRP, plus great resources for beginning readers to adults all available starting June 1. Stop in today or visit gladl.org/srp2024. We also have storytimes, themed entertainers and educators, creative crafts, and games both inside and outside all Summer long. And of course, we’ll have “Adventure” themed instant prizes for each completed reading log!

Hey there summer! Kick off your summer in Wacousta! This year's celebration will be a welcoming of summer. This year's block party will focus on giving back to our community through fundraising and community outreach. The Wacousta Block Party helps Wacousta Cooperative Preschool raise funds for our student scholarship fund to ease the financial burden of early education on families. 2023 raised almost $3,000 for our school! We have been able to give out over $5,000 in scholarships since the Block Party first began. We love to bring our community together to celebrate! Join us for a local artasian market, food trucks, live music, kids activities, and more! We can't wait to see you!

Come learn about letterboxing – an activity in which you seek out hidden letterboxes by following clues to a prize and use a rubber stamp, often hand-carved, to stamp into one’s own personal logbook. Learn how to get started on your own hunts, how to join the online letterbox community, and decorate your own logbook! Ages 5+.

Bring in an old jacket or purchase your own! Barb Meyers will help you create a new jacket from your old piece by supply fabrics and creative supplies. Cost is $30 for adults and $25 for children. Barb will help you design and if you need her to sew it together cost will be $25 or you take home to complete your project. Design center is open from 10am-5pm.

Ring of Steel has been entertaining, educating, and enchanting audiences of all ages for over 34 years. Ring of Steel will also bring a museum of armor, arms, and other gear for people to enjoy! This Action Theatre & Stunt Troupe has been entertaining, educating, and enchanting audiences of all ages for 34+ years. Tailored to sci-fi fans of all ages, Jedi Academy includes a demo of lightsaber styles and hands-on Jedi training with our Masters. Costumes encouraged! Ages 8+.

Potter Park Zoo visits Picnic Playdate with some “Wild Tales” about Lions, Tigers, and Bears, oh my! In this lesson we will learn and read stories about what makes these animals excellent predators and how they play an important role in the ecosystem. This program answers these questions, and more! Have you always been interested in learning more about fly fishing? Now you can! The first half of the class will focus on the various equipment used, fly rods, reels, lines, leaders, waders, flies as well as an overview of the different methods of fly fishing with dry flies, nymphs, streamers, etc.  The second half of the class will be hands on fly casting instruction with club provided fly rods. Class presented courtesy of Red Cedar Fly Fishers. Weather permitting. Ages 12+.

Learn emergency procedures, discipline techniques, diapering, age-appropriate activities, rescue breathing, the Heimlich maneuver, and basic first aid skills needed while babysitting. Upon workshop completion, students receive an American Red Cross babysitting course certificate. Registration required, class size limited. Participants bring a sack lunch, water bottle. Ages 12+.
