Create a Magical Mask! Sign up and receive a blank mask at the Library starting Sept. 5 (while supplies last). Glue, cut, paint, dye, add glitter, sequins, feathers, and more! Create a superhero, animal, space alien, stylish, zombie, glamorous or monster mask—whatever you can imagine! Then bring in your magical mask to display by Oct. 1 for people’s choice voting Oct. 1 - 25. Ages 8+.

A great place for farmers and artisans to sell their products directly to the community as well as food truck vendors who can provide tasty local foods.

The market is intended to foster local economic development and encourage business in Grand Ledge. The markets purpose is to also bring local produce and other locally produced goods to the people of Grand Ledge. Items include fresh local produce, homemade baked goods, handcrafted products, plants, honey, maple syrup, smoked fish, flowers, and other locally produced goods.

Celebrate “Happy Cat Month” with Webster in this special cat visitation and adoption event, presented by the Constellation Cat Café in East Lansing! Are you feline stressed and would like engage in a little self-care? Petting a cat can help reduce that stress and encourage you to feel more relaxed! Reading to a cat can help strengthen reading skills and build confidence while reading aloud. Adopting a cat, well, brings love and happiness into a home! Cat stories will be read throughout the event, and snacks & coffee/tea will be provided by local area businesses. All ages.

Every year, millions of eligible voters are unable to cast their ballot because of missed registration deadlines, outdated registration information, or other issues. During this nation-wide civic event, we’ll have voter registration information, printed materials, and public access computers available to help process your registration. We can check polling locations and other civic information, and area municipal Clerks will be on hand to answer questions (check our website calendar for exact times). Each registered voter strengthens our democracy - let’s get every eligible American registered together! Hosted by GLADL & League of Women Voters Lansing Area. Ages 18+.

This workshop will discuss the benefits of a spending plan, identify the difference between needs and wants, and highlight the importance of an emergency fund. The Eaton Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) is offering a FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid Training course. If you work or interact with youth (teacher, parent, pastor, coach, community member, etc.), this course is for you! Youth Mental Health First Aid will teach you to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents. Please Note: Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Participants must attend both nights. There is approximately 2 hours of online pre-work that must be completed PRIOR to attending the in-person sessions at GLADL. Individuals who do not complete the pre-work cannot attend the in-person training.  Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Certificates are good for 3 years. Adult.

The parade kicks off at 5:30 PM at the Fire Barn and then proceeds down Bridge Street and Jenne Street before arriving at the Grand Ledge High School football field as the Comets take on the Waverly Warriors at 7 PM.

Babies and their caregivers will enjoy stories & songs, and learn early literacy tips to use at home. Caregivers will learn how to talk, sing, read, write, and play with their little ones to promote pre-reading skills. We’ll read stories and talk about them, sing and rhyme together, learn finger plays, and have fun while learning. The storytime will conclude with hands-on activity stations. This storytime uses the Ready to Read Michigan program from the Library of Michigan. Birth - 18m & Caregivers.

Join us at Lincoln Brick Park for some seasonal science around the campfire. Enjoy an engaging autumn evening of storytelling, nature hikes, and hands-on science activities, guided by Eaton County Parks Naturalist Ethan Jacobs. Families will have the opportunity to discover and learn about the diverse species native to Michigan, followed by an interactive nature hike. The night will conclude with stories and some delicious s'mores. All ages.

Submissions will ONLY be approved for those local community events that will take place within the Grand Ledge Public School (GLPS) District or that are sponsored by a local business or organization that is housed with the GLPS District.
