Saturdays, June 6 - September 26, 2026 (Yankee Doodle Day - Saturday, June 13)

A great place for farmers and artisans to sell their products directly to the community as well as food truck vendors who can provide tasty local foods.

The market is intended to foster local economic development and encourage business in Grand Ledge. The markets purpose is to also bring local produce and other locally produced goods to the people of Grand Ledge. Items include fresh local produce, homemade baked goods, handcrafted products, plants, honey, maple syrup, smoked fish, flowers, and other locally produced goods.

Throughout the summer, we will also have entertainment on the Rotary Club stage during the market and food trucks.

We’ll read a story, sing and rhyme together, do a finger play, and have fun while learning and playing. We’ll end with time for caregivers to socialize and babies to play and interact with each other. Best for babies and toddlers age 2 & younger.

Ages 12+ | Gloria Miller Park (Wacousta Rd.)
Learn more about fly fishing at this hands-on workshop! The first half of the class will focus on the various equipment used-- fly rods, reels, lines, leaders, waders, flies as well as an overview of the different methods of fly fishing with dry flies, nymphs, streamers, etc.  The second half of the class will be hands-on fly casting instruction with club provided fly rods. Ages 12 +. Class size limited to first 25 attendees. Class presented courtesy of Red Cedar Fly Fishers. Weather permitting.

Learn more about the amazing geology of Grand Ledge with this presentation from the Michigan Geological Survey with Augustine Lodise (Michigan Geological Survey geologist) and Dr. Peter Voice (professor of Geology at Western Michigan University). From the industry-building clay deposits, to the amazing sandstone outcrops along the Grand River, there's an amazing amount to see and learn!

Willow Ridge Elm.
Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary will offer an educational, up-close experience for all ages, featuring rescued reptiles, including alligators. All animals are accompanied by a handler during this live animal program!  

This project is funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.

Ages 3 - 5
While older kids are digging into their hardened clay slabs, younger kids will be able to enjoy digging in soft sand for plastic dinosaur skeletons, sparkly rocks, and more. Each digger will get keep two or three of their favorite items from their dig.

This dig is for ages 3 - 5 with parental assistance, and participants will take timed turns to make sure everyone can have a chance to dig. We will either be digging outside or in depending on the weather. Please wear clothing that can get wet/dirty!

Dig for REAL fossils, minerals, and maybe even animal bones using excavation hand tools and then identify them at the end of your dig! Each digger will receive a clay slab that contains a random assortment of items, and participants will get to keep the items found in their dig along with identifying cards for future reference.

This dig is for ages 6 - 12 with parental assistance. We will either be digging outside or in depending on the weather. Please wear clothing that can get wet/dirty!

Teens and Adults will dig for REAL crystals and animal bones/skulls using excavation hand tools and then will identify them at the end of their dig! Each Rockhound will receive a hardened dirt/sand slab that contains a random assortment of items, and participants will get to keep the items found in their dig along with identifying cards for future reference.

This dig is for ages 13 - adults. We will either be digging outside or in depending on the weather. Please wear clothing that can get wet/dirty!
