Ages 12+Too chilly to fish? Learn to tie flies for the summer with the Red Cedar Fly Fishers at these two workshops! Feel free to attend one or both. Class will go over the tools, materials, and techniques to tie 2 to 3 different fishing flies per workshop, for Trout, Bluegill, or Bass. All materials and instruction provided by members of the Red Cedar Fly Fishers.

Enjoy a trip to the Library with your family! We'll have self-directed children's activities all day and our Preschool & Early Childhood Fair. Pick up a kid's craft or STEAM kits (while supplies last), play with our Manipulative Table, color, hunt for "Hidden Hearts", and register to win FREE children's books!

Families with young children can can talk with representatives from area Preschools and Learning Centers to find the program that best meets their needs, meet representatives from area agencies providing important services especially for early childhood, plus some fun for children too!The Library will have books, toys and coloring sheets for children to enjoy. PLUS--Enter our prize drawing for parents (and teachers too) to win a children's Book Pack-- and get your child their library card too!

Drop-in and learn how the GLADL Digi-Lab can easily help you digitize your old media and restore pictures that have seen better days. Whether your closets produce vinyl records, cassette tapes, DVDs, or even a bundle of old letters you would like to read and record as an oral history, digitize it at the GLADL Digi-Lab. Ages 16+Come enjoy coffee, conversation and audience participation for an afternoon of poetry, fun and ideas. Area women poets read poems about 5 subjects in rotation, each giving their spin on the topics. It's a fast-paced, different kind of reading, full of engaging and provoking poems to engage an audience of both poetry fans and those unfamiliar with its performance. Poets and themes to be announced closer to the event.

AdultGLADL has partnered with BrickHaven Brewing Company to offer a Silent Book Club in Grand Ledge. Participants gather at our designated tables at BrickHaven, and everyone brings a book of their choice to read. The Library Coordinator will offer a quick greeting, participants may order drinks and food, and then we'll all silently read the book of our choice for about 45 minutes. After that time, the Coordinator will invite everyone to share a bit about the book they're reading and people can choose to participate or not, whatever they're comfortable with. Registration required to reserve space.

Races Start at 1pm Ready, set...roll! Join us for a wacky race where potatoes are the stars of the track. Decorate your very own "spud mobile" and race it down the derby ramp.
