Learn the basics of Square or Contra Dance and have fun at these lively FREE monthly workshops! Come solo, bring some friends, make some friends, and learn fun dances in a friendly, relaxed, judgement-free atmosphere. Recorded music, live, in-person instruction, these fun dances are like an amusement park ride you make for yourself! Sessions alternate: Sun. March 3 & Sun. May 5: Contra Dance; Sunday, April 7, Square Dance. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you can move easily in. Ages 7+

Can you mix oil and water?  Come find out when we experiment with oil, water, and neon paint and then add a black light to see it glow.  Ages 5+

Everyone has big feelings sometimes. Children who learn to manage those feelings at an early age have a big advantage in life. It’s an important skill for growing minds! Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties offers groups for children of all ages learn skills to manage life stress, improve social skills, and have fun doing it! New participants are always welcome – come join us! No registration necessary

  • Tues., 10 am: Ages 3-6 & caregivers:  Easy activities children can do to help feel better when they are facing big feelings. Learn about movement and breathing, using artwork to express feelings, and how laughter helps us feel better.

Get creative with LEGO bricks at the library’s LEGO-Palooza! Each child will get a tray of LEGO bricks and the challenge is to build their most fantastic creation from just those bricks. How imaginative can you be? Some Duplo bricks will be available for younger children to use. Ages 5+
