Come enjoy coffee, conversation and audience participation for an afternoon of poetry, fun and ideas. Area women poets read poems about 5 subjects in rotation, each giving their spin on the topics. It's a fast-paced, different kind of reading, full of engaging and provoking poems to engage an audience of both poetry fans and those unfamiliar with its performance. Poets and themes to be announced closer to the event.
Logs are available at the library.
Gather in the daytime with other adults for coffee, conversation and try a new game-- or share an old favorite! Adults can meet up at the Library monthly at this time for interesting presentations, crafts, games -- and coffee, snacks and conversation with friends you know-- and those you've just met.
We are moving into the old Wacousta Elementary!!Families are invited to explore our new space, meet our staff, and learn more about our preschool program. This is a great opportunity to see our classrooms, ask questions, and get a feel for our community. We can't wait to see you there!
Wacousta Preschool is Growing! Wacousta Cooperative Preschool (WCP) invites the community to an Enrollment Open House to celebrate our historic move to the Wacousta Community Center (the former Wacousta Elementary building). This transition allows us to serve more families in the Wacousta, Grand Ledge and DeWitt areas by significantly increasing our preschool capacity and launching our brand-new Toddler Program.
Experience the Cooperative Difference As a family-focused nonprofit cooperative, WCP is more than just a school—it is a community where parents are partners in the classroom. Our Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy focuses on child-led inquiry where children are encouraged to be curious, empathetic, and collaborative. Whether you are a current WCP family or looking for your child’s first school home, join us to see how we are building a vibrant community hub for our smallest neighbors.

GLADL has partnered with BrickHaven Brewing Company to offer a Silent Book Club in Grand Ledge. Participants gather at our designated tables at BrickHaven, and everyone brings a book of their choice to read. The Library Coordinator will offer a quick greeting, participants may order drinks and food, and then we'll all silently read the book of our choice for about 45 minutes. After that time, the Coordinator will invite everyone to share a bit about the book they're reading and people can choose to participate or not, whatever they're comfortable with. Registration required to reserve space.
