LEGO Creators Challenge Call for Entries
August 1 - 30

Calling all kids--Build something amazing with your own LEGO's and have a chance to win prizes!  Create something original and bring your creation to the library by August 31st for display during “People’s Choice” voting in September. Note: Must be original creations, not a kit, and must fit into a 1'x1' space. Be sure all bricks are FIRMLY connected. Make sure to give your creation a name!

Come and join your friends and neighbors for a movie in the park this summer! Arrive early and enjoy beautiful Mount Hope Park and take advantage of pre-movie activities including lawn games, concessions (cash only), music, playground, and the walking path. Activities will open at 7:30 p.m. and the movies will start approximately at 9:15 p.m. Bring a blanket or low back chair to enjoy watching the movie.

Intro to Fly Fishing [Registration Req.]

Learn about equipment: fly rods, reels, lines, leaders, flies as well as different methods of fly fishing and hands on fly casting instruction with club provided fly rods. Ages 12 +.  Class size limited. Presented courtesy of Red Cedar Fly Fishers.

QPR Training [Registration Req.]

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an evidence-based emergency mental health intervention, offered by the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, & Ingham Counties, teaches participants to recognize the signs of suicide and the steps to getting a person to help. If you're concerned about someone you know, or you just want to help support good mental health, this training is for you! Adults only.

Submissions will ONLY be approved for those local community events that will take place within the Grand Ledge Public School (GLPS) District or that are sponsored by a local business or organization that is housed with the GLPS District.
