This hands-on event is perfect for late elementary and early middle school students who are curious about nature and wildlife. With the help of expert guides and local naturalists, we'll explore the area to search for salamanders and other amphibians, while gaining a deeper understanding of their behaviors, needs, and conservation efforts. Learn adult and pediatric CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), emergency procedures like rescue breathing, and the Heimlich maneuver, and first aid. Upon workshop completion, students receive a course completion card in Adult and Pediatric CPR with AED and first aid. Class is blended learning online part is sent after registration for class. Registration required, class size limited. This class is not appropriate for those needing training for a healthcare field (doctors, dentists, nurses, EMS, etc.).

The Madrigals are an auditioned choir, and along with being the top group at Grand Ledge High School, they are considered one of the finest vocal ensembles in the area. Students excel at Solo & Ensemble and Choral Festivals, State Honors Choirs, All-State Choir, and the Michigan Youth Arts Festival. Join us for a varied program from classical to contemporary selections. The Madrigals are directed by Sheri Peterson, the 2023 Michigan School Vocal Music Association Teacher of the Year.

Tickets are available through gloperahouse.com or at the door, opening at 6:45. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.

This performance is sponsored by the Friends of the Opera House and the Harlan and Betty MacDowell Concert Foundation. Concert proceeds benefit the historic Grand Ledge Opera House, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The Opera House appreciates the community's continued support.

Hear the stylings of our unique vocalists and spirited Grand Band as we salute the 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry Show. Nashville was built on several genres of music, and we'll pay tribute to beloved country, folk-rock, blues and inspirational gospel tunes!

Saturday, May 17th: Dessert at 6:00, Show at 6:30, Doors open at 5:45
Sunday, May 18th: Dessert at 2:30, Show at 3:00, Doors open at 2:15

Tickets are $22 each and include dessert and coffee. Reservations for full tables of 8 are also available. 

Tickets can be purchased online at gloperahouse.com, at Paxton Countertops (6003 W. Saginaw Hwy, Lansing), through ensemble members, or at the door.

Wacousta Block Party – "It's the best party in Wacousta!"

This year, we’re adding even more magic with a visit from real princesses, face painting, touch-a-truck, and a balloon artist! Whether you're here for the delicious eats, unique shopping, or exciting kids' activities, there's something for everyone.

More than just a celebration, the Wacousta Block Party is also a fundraiser for the Wacousta Cooperative Preschool Scholarship Fund, helping provide tuition assistance to local families. So come out, support a great cause, and experience why this truly is the best party in Wacousta!

Visitors may park across the street at the old Wacosuta Elementary School or any of our local parks. Shuttle service will be provided by Clinton Transit from both Heritage Park and Gloria Miller Park for your convenience.
